FlashThe Portable Sun:   Advanced Photography Workshop
October 11-14, 2012           Price: $495.00
National Geographic photographer Raul Touzon will teach a photography workshop at the Dragonfly Gallery in Austin, TX October 11-14, 2012.

Born in Cuba, Touzon is a documentary and underwater photographer who specializes in making images that convey what he refers as to “the eternity of a moment”. Raul has traveled extensively in Latin America documenting its cultures and building an extensive collection of dramatic photographs which have been used in publications such as National Geographic Magazine, National Geographic Travel, Time, and US News among others. More info on Raul can be found on his website -
   http://www.touzonphoto.com/

One of the most useful tools to take your photography and creativity to the next level is learning how to use your external flash unit, the one I like to call "The Portable Sun". Learn how to use your "portable sun" in the field to photograph, nature, people and everyday life in an easy and fun way; without experience or complicated pieces of gear. You will learn fill flash, remote flash operation (one and multiple units) and how to mix different light sources to produce stunning images. We begin each day by editing and critiquing each other's photographs. Highly visual lectures and demonstrations cover digital camera settings, accurate metering & exposure in addition to the rules of composition.  Learn how to present your work with lessons on editing, sequencing, story development and bookmaking.  Afternoons are spent on field trips photographing assignments based on topics discussed during morning sessions.
